Monterey Car Week

A week of car shows, races, rallies and auctions on the Monterey Peninsula every August, climaxing with the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on Sunday.

Car Week began in 1950 as an outgrowth of the Pebble Beach Road Race. Over the decades many official and unofficial events grew up around it, from vintage races to marque shows to auctions. About 100,000 people attended in 2024, and auction sales ran to hundreds of millions of dollars.

Its best-known events include the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on the final Sunday, the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, and shows for German cars and Porsches.

One of the more exclusive events is Motorlux, an invitation-only gathering on the Wednesday before the Concours at the Monterey Jet Center, which shows exotic cars and private jets. Events are spread across the peninsula, so check each event’s own schedule and location.
